Job Description

The Manager, Corporate Trust is primarily responsible for leadership that supports the Corporate Trust business lines. This position leads the Relationship Management Teams and Sales Admin Support personnel who are responsible for servicing Corporate Trust clients and prospects. Responsibilities include involvement in the overall client relationship management of the Corporate Trust client accounts. In addition, the Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional financial services to existing and prospective clients. Additional responsibilities include delivery of various Corporate Trust products to institutional clients. Generally, will require little direct supervision.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will manage personnel who are responsible for serving Corporate Trust clients and prospects. Responsibilities include determining work priorities and schedules; interview and recommend candidates, evaluate, hire, orient, coaches and trains personnel; recommends associated personnel actions when necessary.
  • You will lead efforts to streamline, automate and standardize processes and procedures to create capacity for their employees. Serve and lead projects and serve on internal committees.
  • You will assist with improved profitability for accounts assigned to their teams. Provide training for cross-selling the Bank's products and services to existing institutional clients.
  • You will provide oversight for of personnel to ensure Corporate Trust accounts are in compliance with Wealth Management Group and Departmental policies and procedures, governmental laws and regulations, and internal and external audit requirements.
  • You will build partnerships with Centers of Influence such as CPAs, attorneys, etc... to develop opportunities for Corporate Trust, Institutional Wealth and the Bank. You will participate in community and professional activities to expand personal network of business contacts for the development of new business.
  • You may perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree and 15 years related experience or 20+ years equivalent experience.

  • Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices and principles to effectively evaluate the needs of institutional clients.
  • Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements of the Trust Indenture Act of 1939, workings of the capital markets and appropriate securities laws and regulations.
  • Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of most municipal and corporate bond structures and their specific requirements as they relate to indenture trustee responsibilities and risks, as well as municipal securities continuing disclosure requirements and procedures, arbitrage rebate requirements and ancillary trustee roles in securities transactions. A solid understanding of critical trust operations requirements to recognize logistical issues and evaluate operational risk in trust documents.
  • Extensive knowledge of investments, especially fixed income securities, guaranteed investment contracts, repurchase agreements and state statutory permitted investment requirements for municipalities.
  • Advanced experience in use of software applications, including expertise in various word processing and spreadsheet applications, as well as Web-based systems utilized internally and externally.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to properly communicate internally and externally.
  • Excellent presentation skills including presenting in front of a group.
  • Proven ability to analyze highly complex information and data to develop and recommend solutions in challenging projects.
  • Demonstrated capacity to sell products/services within the financial services industry.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Excellent ability to organize work priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent managerial skills to handle personnel issues, interviewing and performance reviews.
