Medical Technologists perform and evaluate complex laboratory tests in various areas of the clinical laboratory. This position requires operation and understanding of complex precision instruments and a variety of automated and electronic equipment.
Medical Technologists work with minimal supervision, and have the necessary background to recognize problems, be proficient in troubleshooting and problem solving.
Medical Technologists are key operators for various instruments, aiding the supervisor in training, advanced maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting. They assist in developing and modifying procedures and programs to ensure the accuracy of a test and perform required Quality Control procedures; document results accurately and follow through appropriately on all outliers. Medical Technologists report all critical values to the appropriate person, complete the required documentation, and follow organizational, departmental, and section policies such as Universal Precautions, Fire Safety, QA documentation, Hazardous Waste, etc.

Bachelor's Degree required

Licenses and Credentials
Medical Technologist (ASCP) - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) required
