The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The laboratory of Dr. Matt Yousefzadeh is looking for a Technician B. The technician will learn to perform molecular endpoint assays and a variety of techniques, including flow cytometry, cell culture, and physiologic measurements.

Responsibilities



  • Manage all aspects of the animal colony, including animal husbandry and tissue collection, under PI supervision.
  • Processing and management of human and murine samples and all records on them.
  • Perform analysis of samples, including data processing and analysis.
  • Ordering of supplies and reagents, and maintaining laboratory operations to ensure smooth operation.
  • Perform other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory and research projects.


Minimum Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science, or equivalent in education, training, and experience.

  • One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training, and experience.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to multitask, work independently as well as part of a team, and work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management files required.
  • Previous experience in a basic science laboratory.
  • Experience with animal work.


Other Requirements



  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
  • Participation in the medical surveillance program.
  • Ability to work with laboratory animals.
  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
