This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Instructor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center is one of the nation's foremost academic health science centers working together with one of the nation's premier health systems, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. The Division of Neonatology at CUMC in Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital is seeking a BC/BE neonatologist who seeks additional training in Cardiac Intensive Care. This is an academic faculty position that will combine clinical service with intensive training focused on neonatal cardiac intensive care. Excellent neonatology and basic neonatal cardiac critical care skills are required, along with a commitment to dedicated teamwork and academic mission. During the instructor period, the accepted candidate will receive training in neonatal cardiac intensive care along with key rotations in the following fields: cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization, heart failure, cardiac anesthesia, cardiac surgery, pediatric cardiac intensive care. Additional rotations may be added to craft the training in a personalized fashion that would help the candidate launch into a successful career as a neonatal cardiac intensivist. At the end of the training, the successful candidate will receive a certificate as a neonatal/pediatric cardiac intensivist. It is anticipated that the training may last up to 2 years. The Infant Cardiac Unit, the nation's first and only dedicated neonatal intensive cardiac unit will serve as the primary unit where training is received. The neonatal cardiac intensive care unit- a 17 bed unit, is part of our outstanding 75-bed level IV NICU, and high-risk delivery service with >5000 deliveries per year. Opportunities for clinical research are readily available. Participation in call will be expected and, in an amount, expected of instructor position. Active participation in Departmental and Divisional faculty activities, meetings and conferences is required. Competitive salary, benefits, and support are offered commensurate with academic rank.
