Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and support our production team in achieving company-wide goals. This role requires direct oversight of manufacturing employees, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities to drive team success and operational excellence. This role would work on our 2nd shift Monday - Friday 2pm-10:30pm.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations (shearing, punching, forging, tempering, assembling, painting) to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Manage employee scheduling, timekeeping, and labor allocation to optimize resources and minimize downtime.
  • Train and coach employees on job responsibilities, operational procedures, and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Inspect in-process and finished products, initiating corrective actions to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, conduct performance reviews, and handle personnel actions (promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures).
  • Support equipment functionality through incidental maintenance, housekeeping, and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Review production schedules, prepare reports, and participate in meetings to align operations with organizational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Address operational and employee issues promptly, fostering a safe, compliant, and positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of documents including safety guidelines, operational manuals, and written procedures to ensure correct application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective written communication skills, capable of preparing routine reports, detailed correspondence, and documentation necessary for supervisory duties.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the capability to speak clearly and confidently before teams of employees and stakeholders, facilitating training and information sharing.
  • Proficiency with basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to analyze production data and manage operations efficiently.
  • Ability to compute and interpret rates, ratios, percentages, and graphical data to support decision-making and performance tracking within manufacturing processes.
  • Solid problem-solving skills to address practical issues and make sound judgments when faced with operational variables and limited standard procedures.
  • Capability to follow and convey instructions provided in various formats including written, oral, diagrammatic, and scheduling to maintain consistency and compliance with production goals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to upholding safety standards and promoting a safety-first culture within the team.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse manufacturing workforce respectfully and effectively.

Education / Experience

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to three months of relevant manufacturing or supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on training.
  • Prior experience in the automotive manufacturing sector or related industries is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams successfully in a production environment and a strong willingness to promote continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
