Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
The McKinsey Career Network (MCN), in partnership with Alumni Relations, aspires to accelerate alumni impact while reinforcing the enduring value of the firm's global network.
Dedicated to the professional growth of soon-to-be alumni, alumni, and executive friends of the firm, MCN provides strategic career development support to these priority populations.
You will serve as a core thought partner to our global firm function leaders, shaping and advancing MCN's offerings while leading the team responsible for global executive career engagement.
You will build both internal and external networks to strengthen client relationships, unlock new opportunities, and drive innovation through impactful programming and forward-thinking support models. And as we continue to expand our reach, this role is critical to maintain the balance between scaled support for our vast network with more bespoke support for our executive population.
Your Growth
You are someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, bringing a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to tackle meaningful challenges that have a real impact.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to help you quickly broaden your expertise, grow into a well-rounded professional, and contribute to work that truly makes a difference.
When you join us, you will have:
  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Exceptional benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well-being for you and your family.
Your qualifications and skills
  • U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent education or work experience required
  • 10+ years of experience in a business communications-related field, a benefit if in a professional services environment, corporate communications role, government, or communications agency background
  • Exceptional analytics, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Clear understanding and quick grasp of complex problems, with the ability to manage and shape the McKinsey Career Network's overall content agenda to further objectives
  • Demonstrated strength in reconciling conflicting priorities and coordinating different efforts within a fast-paced, influence-driven, fluid, ambiguous and agile operating environment while producing high quality results
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to establish trust with colleagues across geographies, roles, and levels, and maintain a non-hierarchical approach with strong influencing capabilities; ability to apprentice and mentor more junior team members
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication skills across formats that can be expertly applied to elevate the MCN's strategic priorities
  • Exceptional ability to develop internal and external networks; ability to exhibit executive level presence, credibility and confidence in advising and guiding senior alumni and referred executives
  • Experience creating and maintaining accurate budgets, schedules and timelines for projects
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and Firm related tools (Box, Slack)
  • Exceptional instinct for reputational risks and exercise outstanding judgement; ability to counsel internal stakeholders and help them achieve their objectives while also mitigating risks
