What you'll be doing...You will be responsible for the monitoring, testing, preventative maintenance, and repair of emergency power infrastructure, including generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), direct current (DC) plants, rectifiers, and automatic transfer switches (ATS). You will ensure these critical systems remain fully operational, leveraging your expertise in electrical troubleshooting, power distribution, and load management to meet specifications and operational procedures at Verizon Network Facilities. Your role will also involve the maintenance and repair of physical facility structures and peripheral systems. As a first responder during network threats or natural disasters, your skills in managing emergency power backup systems will be critical for maintaining network integrity and ensuring a best-in-class customer experience. What we're looking for... You're a skilled technician with a deep understanding of power systems and telecommunications. You excel at working independently and are thorough, vigilant, and proactive in solving complex electrical problems. You'll need to have:
Physical requirements of the job may include, but are not limited to: climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated areas, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to approximately 60 pounds, pushing, grasping, twisting/bending, and crawling, squatting, or kneeling in small spaces.
