Responsibilities

The Asset Analyst is responsible for supporting both the Finance and Land Acquisition functions by compiling and managing financial and operational data related to land assets. This hybrid position performs detailed financial reviews, manages deal information flow, and assists in the analysis of land under consideration for purchase and development. This role ensures accurate, timely evaluation of land opportunities and maximizes the profitability of existing and proposed land assets.

Responsiblitiles:

Joint Ventures & Pro forma Review

  • Maintain and update monthly & quarterly JV pro forma models for active land assets.
  • Review and adjust JV pro formas for Land Committee submissions.
  • Conduct analysis of approved but not closed JV deals.
  • Track JV takedown schedules, lot exhibits, and takedown coordination.
  • Manage JV draw requests and invoice tracking.
  • Organize and upload JV documents ensuring accurate coordination across teams.

Land Acquisition Support

  • Assist Land Acquisition leadership in daily land research responsibilities.
  • Process land wire requests and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage and update Salesforce deal data for land pipeline tracking.
  • Assist in deal underwriting, research, and due diligence as needed.
  • Support preparation of CAP packages and Land Committee submissions.
  • Participate in meetings related to Entitlement, Land Acquisition, and internal joint venture meetings.

Finance & Data Management

  • Assist with capital forecasting and cash flow modeling for land projects.
  • Manage, update, and disperse entitlement schedules and timeline schedules for upcoming assets.
  • Track and analyze land pipeline data, providing regular reporting for leadership.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end processes related to land assets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Serve as a bridge between Finance, Land Acquisition, and Operations to ensure seamless information transfer.
  • Provide financial insights that influence negotiation strategies and project planning.
  • Recommend process improvements to streamline reporting and enhanced data accuracy.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in financial analysis, accounting, land acquisition or land development or a related field. Preferably with public homebuilder or other real estate related business.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and present findings to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain pro forma models, cash flow forecasts and ROI analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting budgeting or cost tracking.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to work with CRM Systems (Salesforce preferred) and financial software.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel in financial modeling.
  • Prior experience in MetroStudy, and GIS preferred.
