Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Hemodialysis Technologist-TH18 Hemodialysis-Evening Shift (35 Hours).

In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:The Senior Hemodialysis Technologist is responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements regarding the maintenance, monitoring, and quality assurance of the water purification system, Deionization (DI) water system and dialysis equipment. The Senior Hemodialysis Technologist is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of all hemodialysis equipment, maintenance and upkeep of all logs, development of technical procedures and providing education to staff on all hemodialysis equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the required characteristics of fluids prepared by the water purification system, Deionization (DI) water system and related dialysis equipment regarding the chemical composition, temperature, and allowable microbiological contaminants.
  • Familiar with the monitoring and control functions incorporated into hemodialysis related devices and the methods used to confirm accurate calibration.
  • Performs on-going visual inspection of dialysis machines and hemodialysis related equipment and recalibrates in accordance to the manufacturers guidelines.
  • In conjunction with Facilities Management monitors and troubleshoots the water purification system for hemodialysis, Deionization (DI) water system, and related dialysis equipment as specified by the manufacturers guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of standards and regulations of water quality requirements, water purification system, Deionization (DI) water system and related dialysis equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with all quality assurance guidelines. Conducts culture and sanitation checks in accordance with established schedules. Obtains cultures, endotoxins, and comprehensive water analysis samples, reports results to the Medical Director of Hemodialysis, Nursing Leadership, and maintains detailed records in accordance with standards.
  • Reviews and maintains accurate records of all dialysis equipment used, sanitizations, repair service, cultures/endotoxins and comprehensive water analysis results, scheduled preventive maintenance and logs.
  • Enforcement of appropriate infection control techniques. Cleans, sets up, monitors and maintains machines in the dialysis unit, as necessary. Monitors and maintains dialysis equipment after each use, as needed.
  • Monitors and maintains an inventory of all dialysis equipment and dialysis related supplies to ensure adequate par levels. In conjunction with the Medical Director, Nursing Leadership, and Logistics Manager orders supplies from the manufacturer/vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or the equivalent. BLS certification. One year experience in a dialysis center. Excellent oral communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of standards and requirements. Completion of formal training program and hemodialysis technician certification is required. Certification must be obtained from NNCC, BONENT or NNCO..

Required Licenses: Certified Hemodialysis Tech

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:2 to 3 years dialysis experience with background in dialysis equipment maintenance. Leadership abilities. Knowledge of MS office and Excel spreadsheet.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $78,635.57 - $78,635.57 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
