Goals & Learning Objectives: All interns gain hands-on experience in design, plant operations, and fieldwork, while also demonstrating initiative through a solo project. This practical exposure provides a strong understanding of how components come together, equipping interns with the insight needed to engineer with constructability in mind.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

  • Complete the orientation portion of the Tindall training program including time in production, quality control, and the field.
  • Complete the technical portion of the Tindall training program, including structural design and analysis of precast concrete components and their connections using engineering principles.
  • Independently complete an assigned engineering project focused on testing products or connections, with the goal of gathering data and providing recommendations for performance improvements.
  • Upon completion of the internship, prepare a final report for the solo project, summarizing findings, results, and recommendations, and present it to senior management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Working Environment: During the orientation phase of the training program, interns will work in production and/or construction areas, which may be loud and dusty. Interns should anticipate spending up to 50% of their time in outdoor or production environments during both orientation and the development and implementation of their solo project.

Education: Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a structural emphasis. Must have completed coursework in structural engineering as part of their academic program. CAD or 3D modeling experience is a plus.

Experience: Participate in ASCE concrete canoe and AIAS design build projects are a plus but not required.
