The MU Counseling Center is part of the MU Student Health and Well-Being unit, which includes the Counseling Center, Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center, Student Health Center, and Wellness Resource Center. The Center is an APA-accredited doctoral internship site and serves a student community representing a wide range of backgrounds. Essential Functions The successful candidate will promote the well-being of Mizzou students through the provision of high-quality clinical services and outreach programs to students with substance use disorders and various psychological, academic and interpersonal concerns. They will work collaboratively with mental health providers, medical staff, and outreach and health promotion staff in Student Health and Well-being. Competence and experience in the treatment of a wide variety of diagnoses and life problems in addition to substance use disorders is required. While candidates should not exclude themselves from consideration for a position, preference will be given to applicants who also have experience and interest in working with related addictions including gambling and sports betting. Shift
The specific start date is negotiable. 40 hours per week. This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule. Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work and relevant licensure (or eligible to be licensed within 12 months) within the State of Missouri. Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of post-degree experience in substance use counseling is necessary. Must be fully licensed to practice independently as an LPC or LCSW in the state of Missouri and licensure must be maintained as a requirement for employment. In addition to experience and skillset in working with substance use and recovery, preference will be given to applicants with CRADC, CRAADC, or CADC credentialing in Missouri. Additionally, a minimum of one year of clinical experience working in a college counseling center (this may include practica, internship or post-MA fellowship experience) or with a college aged population is desired. Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $70,000 - $96,054 annually, depending on experience and other qualifications. Paid on a monthly basis.
