JOB SUMMARY:

We are building the next generation of AI-driven solutions to transform healthcare and beyond. We are seeking Senior Applied Scientist to join our Agent Foundation team. This team builds the foundational agentic systems that power downstream business applications. You'll work at the intersection of applied ML research and system design, developing intelligent, reliable, and business-driven agents that make a tangible impact.

This role requires strong software engineering and system design skills, that are essential to build working, production-grade agents. If you're excited by the challenge of building practical AI systems using LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases, tools, MCP and so on, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Applied Scientist - Agent Foundation Team is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying agentic AI systems that power downstream use cases. This role blends applied AI Agent research, system design, and hands-on coding to create scalable agent workflows. Acting as a "product scientist for agents," the Senior Applied Scientist ensures that new techniques and experiments translate into production-grade capabilities. They will collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that are both scientifically rigorous and practically impactful.

  1. Research, design, and implement agentic workflows and LLM-driven systems tailored to business use cases.
  2. Apply deep expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and LLMs/ SLMs to advance core agent capabilities.
  3. Design system architectures for agent workflows (multi-step reasoning, tool use, memory, external integrations).
  4. Build prototypes and pipelines using modern agent frameworks (LangChain-Langgraph, LlamaIndex, Autogen, Agno, n8n etc.).
  5. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to scope problems, align with business goals, and define measurable outcomes.
  6. Develop experimental designs, evaluation harnesses, and monitoring methods to measure agent reliability, latency, and quality.
  7. Translate ambiguous business needs into structured scientific investigations and deliver data-driven insights.
  8. Author high-quality, production-leaning code that demonstrates both scientific rigor and software reliability.
  9. Stay current with advances in generative AI, LLMOps, and agentic architectures, applying them to solve practical challenges.
  10. Be excited about using Gen AI tools like AI coding agents to build AI applications
  11. Mentor peers in applied science best practices, experimentation, and evaluation.
  12. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements when handling sensitive healthcare data.
