What you'll do:

The Strategic Risk Senior Analyst will be responsible for aggregating and analyzing risk data to inform various risk activities, supporting foundational risk processes, and communicating with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will leverage their proficiency in risks and controls to provide actionable insights that drive meaningful results in support of strategic risk initiatives. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for supporting risk reporting to senior management and the board, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, board requirements, and industry best practices. They will also partner effectively across all Lines of Defense to support committee and board-level reporting.

The Strategic Risk team is part of the Bank's wider Risk Management departmentdepartment, and a rapidly growing team focused on providing expert guidance, credible challenge, and effective oversight of risk-taking activities throughout the Bank. The Risk Management department plays a critical role in helping to inform bank management and the Board of Directors of the risks inherent in its actions and decisions, enterprise impacts, and opportunities to manage risk.

Reporting to the Strategic Risk Program Manager, the ideal candidate will be driven to build and scale, ready to challenge the status quo, able to comprehensively synthesize and communicate information, have an entrepreneurial mindset, as well as driven to continuously improve.
  • Assist the Strategic Risk Program Manager in a variety of key activities, including conducting risk assessments, managing policies and procedures, and supporting the implementation and management of risk initiatives.
  • Provide support for risk and control processes, including identifying and assessing risks and controls, aggregating and analyzing risk information, and participating in dynamic risk reviews to ensure effective risk management.
  • Coordinate committee/board meeting material compilation within the 2nd Line of Defense and with 1st/3rd Line of Defense authors.
  • Support risk committee/board meeting administration, such as annual agenda planning, meeting minutes and follow-ups, as well as charter assessments.
  • Enhance and formalize risk committee/board reporting activities, focusing on reporting accuracy, integrity, and timeliness.
  • Drive risk governance improvements, in particular reporting clarity and usefulness while balancing agenda comprehensiveness, depth, and focus.
  • Participate in development of Strategic Risk team committee/board deliverables as needed (e.g., Risk Appetite Statement KRI reporting, Large Financial Institution Readiness updates).

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3 years of direct or related experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Finance, Public Accounting, or Management Consulting
  • Knowledge of general banking operations and governance practices, industry trends, competitive landscape, and corporate strategy
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management principles and frameworks, including the ability to identify, assess, and manage risks in alignment with organizational objectives
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of an organization, especially senior management
  • Ability to drive multiple agendas simultaneously to achieve continuous outcomes
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
