ACT Team 10 Park Place SUMMARY The Employment Specialist Behavioral Heath works with people who experience serious mental illness in support of their goals related to employment and education. The role completes assessments of need, recovery focused on treatment planning, job and interview coaching, and group and/or individual training. Playing a key role is development of strategic community partnerships as well as support for community linkage. May work in a peer program or community setting. * Engages in direct care with persons who experience serious mental illness including assessment, recovery-based treatment planning, crisis intervention (as needed), and coaching and preparation for interviews and/or educational pursuits. * Provides group and/or individual training related to job readiness, based on the needs of the person. Engages in crisis prevention and management. * Build strategic community partnerships related to employment and education as well as community linkage to services. Documents services according to state guidelines in established electronic medical record. * Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team. * Performs other administrative or project tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required: * Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field. * One (1) or more years job related experience or training in vocational counseling. * Current certification of Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Preferred: * Certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification preferred. * Utilization of therapeutic intervention or counseling services shown to be successful with identified populations, diagnoses and service needs, provided in a group, family or individual format. * Experience providing services directed toward achievement of specific goals defined by the individual consumer and specified in the Individualized Recovery Plan.
