Responsibilities Job Summary As a Machining Liaison you will be responsible all new and established part numbers through the machining operations to include in house and out plant EDM, CNC/Best Fit Datum Drilling, Water Jet and robotic gate removal. In this position you will work in a team environment with other product and process engineers as well as vendors and operations so hands on approach with strong communication skills are required. Primary responsibility is to establish tight process controls to include program qualification, tight change control and approval process where Product engineer has the final approval as they are the SPA for their parts. Also optimization to include reducing the need for rework at gauging because gate removal and EDM is done right the first time as well as reducing the percentage of redrills. This position will develop programs to keep track of the effectiveness of these operations and monitor them daily. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
Skills and Abilities: Reads, analyzes, and interprets technical procedures. Effectively write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Presents information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong communication skills are required. The ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization to achieve your goals are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. This employee must be self-motivated to continue to drive improvement in the gate removal and machining processes. Qualifications Job Specifications Basic Qualifications: Education: This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma and a minimum of 5 years technical experience in metrology and machining in an investment casting business.
