THE POSITION
-
Washington County Human Resources is now hiring a Risk Management Analyst II to join our team. The Risk Management Analyst II plays a critical role in safeguarding county resources, promoting compliance, and ensuring safe, effective operations. This position combines analytical expertise with practical problem-solving to reduce risks and support departments countywide. The Risk Management Analyst II evaluates risks, develops solutions, and coordinates program activities that may span multiple departments or impact countywide operations. They provide analytics and reports to identify trends and mitigate loss exposures, coordinate loss mitigation with individual departments, and assists the Risk Manager with excess insurance policy renewals, insurance certificate management, and advanced financial monitoring of risk program funds. The Risk Management Analyst II also manages a small caseload of property and/or liability claims. Key Duties
- Conducts detailed loss and trend analysis; develops and monitors mitigation plans with departments.
- Acts as departmental liaison for risk management issues, triaging and resolving matters within assigned authority.
- Leads departmental contract oversight, including deliverable tracking, contract compliance, and RFP preparation.
- Reviews contract deliverables for compliance and risk allocation; recommends mitigation strategies and ensure COIs meet requirements.
- Oversees HIPAA compliance trends, coordinates training, and prepares compliance reports.
- Administers and maintains risk management software systems, dashboards, and data integrity.
- Provides advanced financial monitoring of risk program funds, coordinates with Finance and ITS, and prepares specialized reports.
- Handles property loss claims of moderate complexity.
- Develops training materials and leads countywide contract training sessions.
- Performs other specialized risk management functions as assigned.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate works independently, demonstrates advanced computer skills in risk mitigation and analysis, and brings knowledge of property and liability claims processing, insurance policy coverages, and HIPAA requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in risk management, occupational safety and health, business administration, a social science or a related field and three (3) years of professional risk management experience related to the position (related experience includes property and liability claims handling and insurance claims handling); OR
- Associate Degree with coursework in risk management, occupational safety and health, business administration, a social science or a related field and five (5) years of professional risk management experience related to the position (related experience includes property and liability claims handling and insurance claims handling); OR
- Seven (7) years of professional risk management experience related to the position (related experience includes property and liability claims handling and insurance claims handling).
Additional Position Specific Requirements:
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

- Conditional Offer of Appointment: Human Resources will conduct a salary analysis for the final candidate(s) and the hiring manager will extend a conditional offer of appointment.
- Post-Offer Check: The final candidate will require to successfully clear a third-party background check as a pre-employment condition. If offered for a bilingual position, additional oral and written bilingual proficiency tests are required.
- Start Date: A start date will be determined after all pre-employment condition(s) have been met.
