Your Job

OPD has a need for a purchasing associate specializing in piping, flanges, and fittings who will be located in the Katy, TX office. This position will predominantly be partnering with our engineering, design, and expediting groups in determining needs and assuring materials are available per project requirements.

Our Team

In close collaboration with the project team, our purchasing group plays a pivotal role in facilitating the procurement process for a diverse range of elements, including piping, valves, civil/structural components, equipment, and specialized items, crucially contributing to the success of all projects that have been awarded. Our team structure ensures dedicated experts for each distinct category, ensuring focused attention and minimal redundancy. What You Will Do

• Manage Quotation process: Create RFQs, receive quotations from vendors, complete commercial & technical bid tabulations, and issue purchase orders.
• Ensure accuracy of the purchase order description, price, quantity, and delivery dates.
• Partner with engineering and design groups to ensure that proper materials are ordered and will be delivered in time to meet major project milestones.
• Practice cost savings initiatives and creating the most value for OPD.
• Partner with expediting group to ensure that all equipment and materials are going to have on-time delivery or determine other solutions to meet the schedule.
  
• Participate in Supplier Relationship Management.
• Contacts suppliers to resolve issues or ensure on-time delivery.
• Assist accounting in resolution of supplier invoicing discrepancies.
• Ensure purchase orders and associated documents are stored per Purchase Order Storage Procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Purchasing, technical sales or inventory control of pipe, flanges, and fittings
• Knowledge of piping components and their available materials.
• Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel
• Working with ERP system such as Infor or SAP
• Supporting project managers and procurement teams

What Will Put You Ahead

• Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
