Your Role:

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) will be responsible for driving field-based scientific engagement to support the launch and lifecycle of Miltenyi Biomedicine's first CAR T-cell therapy for Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL). This individual will serve as a key member of the Field Medical team, building and managing relationships with thought leaders, clinical investigators, and healthcare professionals across academic and community practices.

In this role, the Sr. MSL will collaborate with the Clinical Development team to raise awareness of clinical trials, support investigator recruitment, and enhance site engagement. The Sr. MSL will also lead peer-to-peer scientific exchange, deliver high-impact insights to guide internal strategy, and represent Medical Affairs at key conferences and scientific meetings.

This position reports to the Vice President Medical Affairs and will collaborate closely with colleagues across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access, and Commercial functions to support the development and execution of medical strategies and tactics. The territory includes ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, WV, VA, and NC, with occasional support in other areas as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Establish and maintain trusted, peer-to-peer relationships with thought leaders, therapy area experts, and HCPs across academic centers, community practices, and integrated delivery networks.
  • Lead high-quality, compliant scientific exchange around CAR T-cell therapy, DLBCL treatment paradigms, and Miltenyi Biomedicine's pipeline.
  • Deliver scientific and clinical presentations to external stakeholders and internal colleagues, translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development to support clinical trial awareness and site engagement by identifying potential investigators and facilitating communication with HCPs.
  • Engage with clinical trial sites in partnership with the clinical development team to enhance study awareness and recruitment efforts through scientific exchange and relationship-building.
  • Represent Miltenyi Biomedicine at scientific congresses and professional meetings, including staffing exhibits, engaging with healthcare professionals, and reporting on emerging data and trends.
  • Gather and share timely field insights - including feedback on treatment trends, unmet needs, and emerging data - to help inform medical and commercial strategy.
  • Provide medical support for advisory boards, speaker training, and educational initiatives, including content development and scientific review.
  • Maintain deep scientific and technical expertise in hematology, oncology, immunotherapy, and Miltenyi Biomedicine's therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in a timely and compliant manner, documenting interactions appropriately in internal systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Clinical, and Commercial teams to ensure coordinated, compliant execution of strategy.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies, SOPs, and healthcare compliance guidelines in all scientific and clinical interactions.


Requirements:



  • MD, PharmD, or PhD in relevant life sciences discipline required. Candidates with other healthcare credentials (e.g., RN, NP, PA, RPh) with clinical experience on relevant clinical areas and strong relevant MSL experience will also be considered; Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry within oncology, cell therapy, gene therapy, or rare diseases, including at least three (3) years in an MSL or Medical Affairs role; Or a combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience as an MSL launching and/or supporting the recent launch of a novel therapy in oncology, hematology, transplant, cell therapy, or gene therapy preferred.
  • Existing relationships with HCPs and institutions in the territory preferred.
  • Familiarity with the structure and dynamics of academic and community hematology/oncology practices.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory teams.

  • Ability to travel 50-70%, including overnight travel.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements governing MSL activities (e.g., FDA, OIG, PhRMA guidelines).
  • Proven ability to engage in high-level, peer-to-peer scientific exchange and build long-term strategic relationships with thought leaders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and data interpretation.
  • Ability to synthesize scientific data and provide clear, actionable insights across diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and CRM tools.
  • Collaborative team player with initiative, sound judgment, and a "roll-up-your-sleeves" mindset.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a variety of facilities. Each person performing this job must have a home office environment, which is temperature controlled. This job requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn.

The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $186,200- $219,100, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
