DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, the Lead Systems Operator will function as the Multi-trade lead for 2nd and 3rd shift and provide day to night oversight in the areas of multiple trades. This includes the preventative maintenance and repair of air compressors, vacuum pumps, HVAC, small chillers, medical gas systems, heat exchangers, elevators, fluid pumps, controls and general building maintenance. The Lead will be responsible for assigning, coordinating and scheduling the work for the building maintenance personnel, to include preventative maintenance and repairs. Acts as the liaison between shop personnel, supervisor, customers, EH&S, Facility Planning & Management, Contractors and other departments. Close out work orders in the preventive maintenance system (TMA). Communicate work order revisions or delays, and other problems to the supervisor and or manager. Responsible for performing multi-skilled Journeyman tasks at the expert level. Assist Supervisor with regulatory compliance tracking and documentation. Participates in budget preparation and review.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the following areas of maintenance and repair on the following equipment: High pressure steam boilers and all auxiliary equipment Steam distribution system Refrigeration and HVAC system Central chillers Emergency diesel generators Low Voltage (120/227) electrical distribution systems and electrical equipment Water softeners, DI water, water heaters and water pumping systems Medical gases, air and vacuum systems Fire alarm systems Sprinkler systems Tube system Horizontal/vertical transportation system..

  • Knowledge of Fire alarm, sprinkler systems and the tube system.

  • Leadership and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Environmental Protection Agency Certification (EPA) or commitment to get certified w/in 6 months of hire.

  • Healthcare Environment Experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $112,000 - $112,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $53.64 - $53.64

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
