Description

The Senior EHS Manager at High Liner Foods will provide leadership and development of EHS programs, companywide initiatives and proactive strategies to support the drive to zero accidents. This role will also be the technical support for EHS systems, while promoting the One High Liner Way and the Continuous Improvement model. The Sr EHS Manager will also review current programs and implement solutions to ensure compliance and best practices. This role requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the US and Canadian EHS field, including compliance & regulatory. The Sr EHS Manager will partner with the site EHS Managers and Warehouse Managers to implement consistent processes, practices, and policies to all North American HLF locations, while acting as the EHS representative for Transportation and Warehousing.

Essential Duties and responsibilities
* Develop and launch new EHS programs and initiatives while integrating strategic company goals; assist with companywide EHS implementation.
* Manage the EHS software platform in collaboration with the EHS team to ensure data capture, trends, predictive analytics and reporting.
* Manage the LMS system (Alchemy) including content development, users, learning plans and reporting related to EHS training initiatives.
* Manage data analytics including KPIs, dashboard creation and SharePoint site management.
* Manage the EHS SharePoint site.
* Coordinate the annual EHS training calendar and execution.
* Manage EHS standardization from development, document control, access and review.
* Manage the EHS auditing and inspection program
* Coordinate the behavior-based safety training programs North America wide (SafeStart & DSS Stop for Supervision) for hourly and salary employees.
* Act as the EHS representative for T&W including all activities of an EHS Manager, including at minimum quarterly visits.
* Assist with Alchemy Playbook (learning and development content builder) for job qualifications to ensure the job tasks include how to do a task safely.
* Develop process improvements and best practice strategies while ensuring compliance with all US/Canada EHS regulations.
* Manage special projects (IH testing, environmental, etc.) including audits, observations, testing, and analysis.
* Manage the EHS contractor management program.
* Act as the EHS representative on F.A.T. visits
* Support regulatory investigations, inspections and audits by external agencies for environmental, health and safety compliance and complaints.
* When required, act in the absence of the EHS Director or EHS Manager and as a company liaison in all incidents, inspections and audits.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (Safety, Environmental, Engineering, etc)
* 5-10 years experience associated with health, safety, environmental regulatory compliance and related activities; food industry experience preferred
* Demonstrated progressive leadership experience, with strong program development
* Knowledge of anhydrous ammonia or other highly hazardous chemicals
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Power BI, Training Management Systems and EHS Software Suites
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to conduct presentations and train/lead teams
* Strong technical systems skills coupled with exceptional documentation abilities
* Capable of building strong cross functional relationships, with the ability to influence and persuade
* Highly motivated, takes the initiative to understand full organization and develop impactful recommendations
