Job summary The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator monitors, responds to, and maintains the security systems used to protect company property and coworkers. This includes access control and intrusion detection, video surveillance, and fire detection systems. GSOC Specialists also monitor open-source intelligence feeds for security incidents and disasters with the potential to create business disruptions globally, using internal tools to communicate those risks to company stakeholders. What you will do
- Collaborate with security staff via various communication mediums to include a two-way radio system, cellphones, SMS text, and email.
- Monitor and maintain CDW electronic security systems, including fire protection, intrusion detection, video surveillance and access control.
- Update access control programming for personnel IDs, ensuring the appropriate access levels based on varying responsibilities; and verify the identities of CDW personnel seeking access to CDW premises, when required.
- Answer telephone calls and seek out answers to varying questions posed by company personnel.
- Facilitate CDW site emergency communication using a mass notification tool.
- Assist Global Security, Safety and Business Continuity members with various support requests to include surveillance data assessments, access history reviews, and social media analysis.
- Monitor global security events and travel safety program, using open-source media to assess possible risk to coworkers, assets, and operational continuity; and communicate these risks to company leaders to aid in effective emergency decision-making.

- High school education or equivalent (GED)
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to detect urgency levels and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work with technical tools and computer software.
- Strong attention to detail
- Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate with peers and management, as well as interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Flexibility of schedule to accommodate varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Demonstrated experience in critically evaluating situations, applying strong problem-solving techniques, and making sound decisions.
