How does this role contribute to our collective success?

Reporting into the Head of Actuarial Corporate, Global Reserving, this position will lead the Data and Applications team of Corporate Actuarial. The Data and Applications team is responsible for supporting our reserving efforts by maintaining and improving our existing suite of reserving applications and data processes, performing quarterly data reconciliations that support analyses, and fulfilling both ad hoc and quarterly data requests and related reporting.

What will you do in this role?
  • Partner with the Head of Actuarial Corporate, Global Reserving, Business Technology Solutions (BTS), and Data & Analytics (D&A) to maintain our reserve platform focusing on improving data acquisition, reconciliation, and reporting processes.

  • Support quarterly reserving processes by leading efforts to reconcile reserving data with the financial ledger, partnering with BTS/D&A to address data issues, and producing all related metrics and exhibits for internal and external reporting.

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust reconciliation processes and reserving tools that can be implemented within SQL Server and accessed through ResQ/Unify, Power BI, and/or Excel.

  • Provide Ad-Hoc support related to data used within the quarterly reserving process including investigation of data and reconciliation issues.

  • Communicate openly and often with all members of Global Reserving to identify needs and pain points that can be improved by enhancing our data processes, adding automation, or addressing current system shortcomings.

  • Manage and develop a team of data focused individuals with varying levels of experience and skillsets.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

About You:

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • At least five years of industry experience as well as experience delivering data for actuarial analytics and business intelligence solutions

  • Firm understanding of insurance and actuarial concepts and terminology

  • Advanced knowledge of management information systems, Excel, SQL Server, and VBA capabilities; additional experience with ResQ/Unify, Power BI, and/or Oracle or similar applications is a plus.

What we offer:

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $160,000 - $190,000 (Chicago), $150,000 - $180,000 (Alpharetta), or $170,000 - $210,000 (New York/New Jersey). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.

In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
