Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Construction plays a key role in delivering Worley's ambition of accelerating the transition to more sustainable energy solutions while supporting our customers' current operational needs. This position is responsible for leading and managing specialized, high-impact construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with contractual, technical, and quality expectations. The role contributes directly to Worley's commitment to delivering sustainable change and creating long-term value for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all phases of construction projects, from planning through execution and completion, ensuring alignment with customer objectives, contract terms, and Worley's corporate policies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that integrate business, operational, and production priorities, supporting the successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, promoting a collaborative and safety-focused work environment that fosters performance excellence and accountability.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, building trusted partnerships by understanding their objectives and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions.
  • Monitor project performance, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to maintain cost and schedule commitments.
  • Apply advanced technical and managerial expertise to troubleshoot issues, resolve challenges, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Guide and mentor project team members, setting performance expectations, providing coaching, and supporting their professional development.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management systems, processes, and tools to enhance delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Represent Worley's values and purpose in all interactions, reinforcing our commitment to safety, sustainability, and innovation.

What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in project management with a strong track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects in energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and align stakeholders toward shared objectives.
  • Expertise in contract management, project controls, scheduling, and cost management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions that support strategic objectives and drive project success.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively to senior management, customers, and teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction systems, processes, and tools, with the capability to troubleshoot issues and support the development of improved solutions.
  • Leadership skills with a participative management style that encourages collaboration and team engagement.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement in all aspects of project delivery.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • University degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred:

  • An equivalent relevant experience.
