Technical Advisor

TISTA Science and Technology is looking for a Technical Advisor to join a program that performs IT Operations and Maintenance, Infrastructure Protection and Information and Assurance, and Software Development Support Services for our federal client.

• Manage day-to-day operations for complex and large-scale projects for Integrated Financial and Acquisition Management System (iFAMS) sustainment operations to ensure they are delivered on time and adhere to quality standards.
• Facilitate effective communication between multiple project teams.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
• Monitor project progress and keep VA management informed of any concerns or developments.
• Manage projects related to iFAMS user provisioning and customer support sustainment activities.
• Establish and maintain program management support services, tailoring the project management approach to team and project needs.
• Apply knowledge of federal government planning, programming, and budgeting as well as resource planning and execution processes, to support customer program planning, decision briefings, and progress assessment across multiple projects.
• Work with stakeholders to define clear project objectives and requirements, agree on priorities, communicate progress updates and demonstrations, and provide responsive change management in frequent planning/re-planning meetings.
• Work with cross-functional teams with diverse technical skill sets to support successful project completion; re-plan and adjust project course based on realities of team velocity and dynamic business/user needs.
• Track progress and report on status and metrics at task/work package and project level.
• Create project management dashboard for providing timely progress information to project teams and customer management.
• Devise clear risk mitigation strategies and engage appropriate stakeholders.

• Prior experience working w/on iFAMS (required)
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of managing complex projects successfully.
• In-depth knowledge of VA operations and iFAMS Service operations, including user provisioning and customer support sustainment activities.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing Financial IT programs.
• Experience as a manager for an IT infrastructure, application development, and security contracts.
• Client interface experience; proven experience managing client expectations & relationships.
• Prior experience managing integrated teams including client and other third-party vendors.
• Proven knowledge of program management, performance management, finance, and governmental procurement.
• Agile Project Management experience (nice to have).

Education:

• B.S. in Computer Science or Information Management.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) (nice to have).
• Agile and SAFe Certified (nice to have).

Clearance:

• The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation.

• Remote, USA.

Pay Range:

• The pay for this position ranges from $55,730 to $103,500.
• The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
