Licensed Practical Nurse, Medical Oncology Clinic
- Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
- Hours: 32 hours/week, Monday-Friday, No holidays or weekends
- Status: Full time, benefits eligible

May include variable shifts, weekends, holiday and/or on-call hours. Performs other duties as assigned including floating to various units based on identified needs and clinical competency. Job Duties:
- Rooms patients, collects assessment data and prepares patient according to specific need.
- Collects patient data and documents in the medical record.
- Prepares and maintains patient charts.
- Assists in examination, treatment and other clinic procedures.
- Administers injections and medications as ordered and directed.
- Reviews physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient.
- Assists with laboratory procedures, screening tests and QI projects
- Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry or directs caller to appropriate personnel for triage
- Documents according to standards of care.
- Provides patient treatments as ordered.
- Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices
- Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the provider orRN.
- Perform the duties of a clinic LPN within alignment to LPN scope of practice.
- Monitors compliance with clinic initiatives as assigned
- Administers specified medications and nursing interventions as allowed by policy and procedure, licensure, and State Practice Act.
- Reinforces patient teaching provided by Provider and RN.
- Provides basic healthcare instruction to family and patient.
- Performs EKG's and simple lab tests as needed.
- Performs venipuncture to collect blood specimens.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN Program OR
- Wisconsin: Have completed the portion of the RN Program needed to obtain a certificate of completion in practical nursing.
- Illinois: Have completed the designated curriculum of a Ladder Option Approved Designated RN Program.
- Licensed as an LPN in the State of Practice
Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days
