Job Summary: This dynamic role plays a key part in driving operational success across the Roofing Division. You'll work closely with project managers to support day-to-day activities, while collaborating with team members across the company and building strong relationships with customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate and detailed working plans and drawings using CAD software from sketches or notes provided by project managers, architects, or engineers.
  • Verify dimensions, materials, and relationships between parts to ensure alignment with overall project structure.
  • Make revisions as directed by design professionals.
  • Report any discrepancies between design documents and actual site conditions to the project manager.
  • Develop charts to represent statistical or purchasing data for construction and procurement.
  • Produce final designs based on plans, specifications, or other architectural/engineering documentation.
  • Gather necessary information for drawings, including site visits to collect measurements and assess current construction status.
  • Use various drafting software packages to complete drawings.
  • Organize and provide specifications for estimators.
  • Assist with bid delivery, permit acquisition, warranty preparation, and other submittal packages.
  • Participate in company initiatives and collaborate with other APi organizations as needed.
  • Work effectively within the design team and with project management to deliver high-quality engineering work.
  • Stay mindful of budget and schedule constraints, aiming to complete assignments on time.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Support Jamar and APi Group goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Education & Experience:



  • Associate's degree in engineering, drafting, or related field; OR
  • Two years or more of drafting experience.


Other Details:



  • This position will report regularly in person to Golden Valley, MN.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
  • Strong written, verbal, mathematical, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and relevant online platforms used for plan procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate online platforms for document and plan procurement.
  • Strong communication skills are required.

Compensation & Benefits:
The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $24.80 to $37.10. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions. In addition, this position is eligible for benefits. Some benefits include:
