Position Summary:

This role acts as a strategic partner in achieving HR organizational goals and objectives by providing guidance and process expertise, while ensuring policy and legal compliance, and practicing ethical procedures. The role will focus primarily on Associate Relations and Talent and Performance management, and will also touch Recruiting, Learning, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Early Talent. This role promotes positive working relationships to ensure the company's treatment of associates is fair, respectful, and consistent with our core values and policies. The person needs to demonstrate solid company knowledge and strong judgement, along with discretion and confidentiality while solving problems and making decisions. The role will develop and maintain solid business partnerships with home office leaders and associates to assure alignment with company culture.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Associate Relations for the Hannaford Home Office.
  • Be a thought partner in day-to-day performance management guidance to leadership (coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions).
  • Resolve associate relations issues while providing a confidential and trusted environment for associate engagement and action planning. Partner with Asset Protection and Legal when appropriate.
  • Provide legal guidance relative to compliance on associate relations issues.
  • Conduct investigations and make recommendations to leadership on appropriate actions to address concerns. Enter all data into the appropriate systems of record.
  • Act as the talent lead for specific functions within the Home Office - supporting leaders and associates by educating them on our talent processes and ensuring equitable development. Continue to evolve the Talent and Performance Management processes in collaboration with co-talent leads.
  • Support new associate onboarding by becoming a resource for new associates and soliciting feedback via the Welcome Conversation template within the first 60 days.
  • Lead managers and associates through company exit procedures. Share themes with leadership.
  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with leadership and associates to ensure execution of the HR strategy is aligned with Hannaford business objectives. Partner with Asset Protection and Legal when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, practices, legal requirements, and ethical procedures. Ensure HR policies are in alignment with company strategy.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with company policies and practices, and federal and state laws. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
  • Collaborate with key business partners to maintain and create new company policies.
  • Become an expert in leveraging the SuccessFactors Human Resource system
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends or issues. Collaborate or innovate to find solves; ensure resolutions are aligned with key business partners and HR and company strategy.
  • Administer the Special Project Assignment (SPA) program based on company strategic and financial goals, business needs and associate development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leaders to maintain the purpose and integrity of the SPA program.
  • Partner with Compensation and Payroll to ensure consistent practices.
  • Process recognition bonus requests.
  • Partner with communications to deliver company policy and benefits information.
  • Promote and support the My Rewards Everyday program and serve as a liaison between associates and benefits' resources to assist in resolving benefits issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company and recruitment, EEO, and compensation policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Successful experience as a Store Manager in a high-volume store.
  • Strong experience in Human Resources, specifically Associate Relations

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in HR, Industrial Relations, or another related field.

  • Solid understanding of the Hannaford business model.

The Salary Range for this Position is $92,640 - $138,960
