Oversees the planning, development, implementation and updating/revising of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in safely producing quality products at minimum costs. Primary contact with the QA/QC department to ensure that high quality products are manufactured on a consistent basis. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the work center.Job Description Job Results & Essential Functions Team That Delivers Consistent, High-Quality Results Work Completed on Time and with Appropriate Quality, Safety and Compliance: Provides supervision and direction to staff and coordinates workflow within the work unit, including distributing work, disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems. Ensures work is scheduled effectively; and checkpoints and controls are set for monitoring progress. Staff are Available as Needed: Monitors subordinates' attendance. Reviews and approves vacation and leave requests. Authorizes all overtime with Focus Factory Manager approval verifies and approves time cards. Performance Managed: Manages employee performance by clearly defining job responsibilities and standards of performance; providing clear, thorough, timely feedback. Promptly addresses performance problems through corrective action. Evaluates and appraises employee's performance and follows-up with proper documentation. Change Adaptable Team: Effectively adapts to change and switches direction comfortably, effectively guiding staff through change process to achieve departmental objectives while maintaining productivity and morale. Compliance with Employment Policies: Investigates and addresses employee complaints and follows up with Manager and HR as required. Understands HR policies and practices and uses them to manage employees. Encourages open expression of ideas and opinions. Resources Effectively Deployed Identifies weekly labor requirements and develops a schedule in conjunction with the Manager. Actively participates in covering openings based on unexpected absences and break schedules, etc. Coordinates activities with the other shifts according to Production requirements, established priorities and availability of materials for production. Develops and maintains the departmental cross functional training matrix to support production and fill in for vacancies as needed through minimal use of overtime. Actively manages (minimize) overtime needed to accomplish schedule. Shift Attainment Goals Met Drives effectiveness and efficiency of department by; leading daily production meetings, reviewing performance of last 8-24 hours and coordinating with groups outside the Manufacturing/Packaging Team to obtain or provide information and/or resources (such as personnel and equipment). Drives high levels of customer service levels by executing the production schedule -- anticipating and mitigating operational issues through effective planning and communication with management, staff, peers, and support groups including actively communicating corporate, department, and shift to shift information. Acts as the processing liaison with other departments (R&D, QA, etc) regarding the transition of new product requirements within the processing dept. Reviews processing requirements / schedules to determine types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations with the Focus Factory Manager and planning group. Schedules work according to work order specifications, establishes priorities and availability of employees, parts, materials and equipment. Inspects processing equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Completes Processing reports on a scheduled basis for management (i.e. yields, downtime, efficiency, etc). Resolves processing and safety problems as needed and provides immediate follow up to production variances and accident investigations via root cause analysis. Insures accurate completion of all paperwork and documentation including batch records, equipment, etc. Clean & Safe Work Environment Supports all company safety initiatives and assures compliance with company safety policies, procedures and OSHA safety regulations for assigned shift. Resolves safety problems as required, investigates accidents and resolves at root cause level, supports and / or leads safety training and related safety requirements for shift. Participates in safety inspections as required. Monitors Production area conditions and ensures that work areas are organized, free from hazards, and that the Production floor is clean. Monitors and verifies that all assigned employees, including temporary labor, follow company GMPs, safety regulations, and all general workplace SOPs and practices. Addresses any observed violations and notifies Manager. Performs daily safety audits. Holds monthly departmental safety meetings. Error Proofed Recommendations as the Result of Identification of Cause & Effect of Errors Responsible for initiating quality exception reports within 24 hours of an incident. Conducts and facilitates incident investigations to determine root cause upon receipt of a deviation/complaint. Assesses product impact. Works with the appropriate discipline to identify corrective/preventative measures necessary for each observation made for improvement and to align processes to consistently manufacture quality products. Coordinates documentation required at the completion of investigations; pulls all materials together into a concise summary that thoroughly documents the conclusions of the investigation. Implements corrective actions including training, Ad-hocs, procedural and process updates, temporary change controls and process evaluation. Collaborates with internal groups to determine and implement preventative measures to reduce/eliminate repetitive deviations. Supports internal/external auditing or agency inspections; and implements changes required by audits / audit observations based upon business needs DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Monitor efficiency and quality performance in the work center. Responsible for timely completion of batch record reviews and reconciliations. Responsible for production from material check-in up to pre-shipment completion of finished goods. Schedule personnel in accordance with production and commitment needs. Key Competencies

Minimum Requirements Education: 4 year degree preferred (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering preferred) Experience: 2 - 5 years supervisory experience in progressively responsible roles preferably in the pharmaceutical field. Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Physical Demands/Work Environment Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job: 24/7 environment with multiple shifts. Requires use of PPE. Reporting/Organizational Relationships Directly Reports to: Focus Factory Manager Direct Reports: 20 - 25 Working Conditions: Location: Hobart, NY Facility Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm Pay Transparency: The expected base pay range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including job-related knowledge, skills and experience. This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable program. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion. Relocation Assistance will be considered for the ideal candidate. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
