Job Summary Directs, manages, plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and controls the activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, H.V.A.C., mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and hospital grounds in an operative and safe working condition. Reports the physical and structural conditions of Hospital facilities and the status of work in progress. Administers and implements the preventative maintenance program to ensure uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant. Works with other departments and administration. Recommends use of outside specialty contractors as circumstances indicate. Responsible for the selection and coordination of all maintenance service contractors and ensures all contractual provisions are met along with established codes. Maintains personnel files and records, audits time cards and prepares statistical and operating reports.

Provides effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within their department, with other departments and with the hospital's primary functions Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the services Manages processes around campus Life Safety/EOC rounds with the organizations team. Provides metrics to safety officers/campus leadership Assists in the creation of policies and procedures and processes as they pertain to regulatory items. This includes the creation of documents, spread sheets, forms, etc. Manages the environment (of care) by developing, implementing and monitoring processes to reduce and control environmental hazards and risks, preventing accidents and injuries and maintaining safe conditions for patients, staff and visitors. Manages department human resources by determining qualifications, competence and performance expectations; planning, implementing and monitoring staffing plans; providing orientation, in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department and applying policies/procedures pertaining to human resources management. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health Company or affiliate and will have direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Construction/Facilities or related field of study. Experience - Ten (10) years of experience in maintenance, engineering or construction/facilities
