Rockland Trust is seeking a Post Closer to capture fully executed loan documents and trailing documents to ensure timely delivery to our investors and the Bank. The Post Closer ensures all closing conditions are met and that all transactions disburse as scheduled and are placed on record. This position is responsible for the daily workflow including closed loan package review for accuracy and completeness to proactively determine post close deficiencies on portfolio and secondary market loan files. Must possess the ability to problem solve issues or questions both verbally and in writing to ensure loan purchase. Essential to develop cooperative relationships with attorneys' offices and other bank departments to ensure efficient workflow.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Perform Post Closing Functions, records management, and day to day operational related activities to include:

    • Maintain working knowledge of investor requirements
    • Perform post close review of mortgage closing documents to ensure all necessary documents have been received and are properly executed.
    • Determine suspense conditions to be elevated and distribute
    • Ships files to investors for review and purchase. Clears all post close conditions.

  • Works closely with closing agents on exception conditions and documents as noted in post-closing review while performing background research for all post-closing requests, working with outside counsel to ensure all documentation is received and executed accurately and timely.
  • Works with Loan Officers, Underwriters, Processors and Closers to correct or obtain missing documentation.
  • Trailing document management to include logging the receipt of recorded mortgage and final title policy. Shipping final documents to investors and following up with attorneys on any missing trailing documents.
  • Reconciles purchase advices to ensure proper pricing received from investor.
  • Helps with special projects as needed.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Individual who is highly motivated, organized and detail oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high volume and deadline oriented environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Mortgage Compliance, Flood and Title Insurance, Agency and FHA/VA/USDA guidelines.
  • Basic understanding of loan process flow from origination to loan sale
  • Excellent verbal and written skills required.
  • Must be able to work independently and research problems/questions as required.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mortgage banking.
  • Bachelor's degree in math, finance, or business helpful.
  • Technologically savvy with working knowledge of Encompass desirable.
  • Excellent time management skills.
