Production Planner Team Lead

Huntsman is seeking a Production Planner Team Lead supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in McIntosh, Alabama. This position will report to the Regional Supply Manager.

Job Scope

Lead effective and efficient site materials management including site Materials Planning, Scheduling, and transactional components of Logistics Operations. Maintain production schedules to optimize inventory levels that meet customer requirements and minimize inventory carrying costs, in accordance with plans generated through the IBP Demand/Supply Planning processes. Maintain SAP information to optimize schedule and planning and work closely with plant, corporate personnel, and the distribution network to deliver optimum service and minimal costs.

In summary, as the Production Planner Team Lead, you will:

With minimal supervision and high-level decision-making,

• Lead all aspects of materials planning
  • Maintain SAP information to optimize schedule and planning
  • Works closely with operations management to ensure adherence to plan and coordinate changes as needed
  • Must consider and balance production and supply chain costs when executing plans.
  • Requisition raw materials according to the plan and interact with Purchasing. Control raw material and intermediate inventories at optimum levels.
  • Support Product Managers and Production teams in efforts to reduce slow moving and off-standard inventories
  • Participate in IBP processes
  • Manages blocked inventory for rework or write-off, etc.
  • Maintains master data in SAP

• Coordinate with Schedulers to achieve the primary department goals of
• Preparing production schedules to meet appropriate inventory levels that maximize customer service with optimal inventory levels (in accordance with plans generated through the Demand/Supply Planning processes)
• Balancing demand requirements with production capabilities.
• Monitoring adherence to schedule and managing change
• Maintaining accuracy in SAP.
• Controlling raw material and intermediate inventories at optimum levels.
• Coordinate with plant Logistics organization to achieve the primary goals of (Logistics organization will be supported by site Operations Supervisor)
• Maintaining finished goods and raw material inventories to ensure they are properly stored, transferred and maintained in a safe and orderly manner to meet all regulatory, EH&S and departmental procedure requirements.
• Maintaining accuracy in SAP transactions.
• Along with Production, maintaining accurate inventory data.
• Assuring shipping from McIntosh to distribution centers and to customers is done in timely and efficient manner.
• Champion continuous improvement in the planning and scheduling processes, including managing special projects.

Other general responsibilities:

• Follows instructions and performs other duties as assigned by Regional Supply Chain Manager
• Knowledge of McIntosh processes, products and businesses.
• Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
• Understanding of MRP, proficiency in SAP and MS Office software.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
• Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or Logistics Management with 5+ years of specific experience.
• Associate's degree in general management with 10+ years of related experience
• Associate's degree may be substituted with equivalent years of Operating Experience.

Skills and knowledge

Specific Skills and Knowledge

• APICs CPIM certification desired.
• Must have a high level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
• Must have good analytical, problem solving, and leadership skills.
• Must have a solid understanding of safety and environmental requirements.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• APICs CPIM certification desired.
