Rock Hill, South Carolina Summer 2026 Process Development Engineering Internship Program

Huntsman is hiring for our 2026 Summer Process Development Engineer Internship Program located at our Rock Hill, South Carolina site.

Our summer intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. The internship runs from May to August - dependent on the school calendar. The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career. The internship program will allow interns to apply knowledge learned in school to a real-world manufacturing or R&D setting, and gain insight into the operation of a multinational chemical company.

As an Engineering Intern you will:

  • Support the team in providing timely, accurate, and insightful technical reporting and process analysis.
  • Assist with PowerPoint slides for engineering reviews and project updates.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects, including benchmarking and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis for process optimization and scale-up activities.
  • Provide assigned reporting on process metrics and development progress to the business.
  • Participate in improvements to digital tools and systems used for process monitoring.
  • Build reports and visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and engineering software.
  • Provide assigned offline documentation and technical summaries on a timely basis.
  • Support the setup and enhancement of process tracking and reporting systems.
  • Conduct efficiency and cost analysis for assigned process areas.
  • Rotate between activities and assignments to gain exposure to different aspects of process development and engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Full time college student at the Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level by the end of Spring 2026.
  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analyses.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to build relationships across all organizational lines.
  • Excellent computer skills; especially proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
