POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) in the College of Education at Penn State is searching for an Academic Program Coordinator to provide an important role in the department's course scheduling and World Campus Graduate program.

This will also include supporting the World Campus Children's Literature Certificate Program and C&I Master of Education (M.Ed.) Program.

The role involvesworking closely with the Director of Graduate Studies, The Graduate School, and the department's administrative support manager, as well as engaging and professionally communicating with students, faculty, and staff.

The Academic Program Coordinator will work both independently and collaboratively to complete this position's responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:

  • Enrollment of undergraduate and graduate students for courses; review and submit graduate applications

  • Assist in ensuring students' graduation milestones are completed; running appropriate reports and completing paperwork

  • Prepare, process, and track certificates earned by students

  • Respond and refer inquiries from prospective and current students to appropriate faculty

  • Act as the department's undergraduate and graduate course scheduler; create relevant reports; maintain a tool/database for collecting and dispersing course scheduling information

  • Support curricular affairs: prepare course proposals; compose documents and reports for World Campus courses going though curriculum review

  • Coordinate and manage the Student Educational Experience Questionnaire (SEEQ) for all undergraduate and graduate courses in C&I.

  • Assist in compiling and maintaining an online collection of syllabi for courses taught within C&I; shares copies of syllabi as needed.

  • Attend all required meetings, taking minutes as necessary

Utilizing effective teamworking skills, the Academic Program Coordinator will assist other team members as needed: backing up the department's website editor, assisting with social media and textbook orders, and providing backup administrative support for the department's graduate program (beyond World Campus).

The Academic Program Coordinator will receive the necessary resources to learn all the rules and regulations for the University's Graduate program to complete the above responsibilities.

After training, the Academic Program Coordinator will also work with various software including Microsoft Office 365 (including Excel), 25Live by CollegeNet (scheduling platform), and the following which are specific to Penn State:

  • LionPATH (student information system)

  • GRADS (Graduate Admissions Decision System)

  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new information efficiently.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Additional Information:

The standard work schedule of this position is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
