Overview

The Market President-Central FL acts as the primary advisor for a portfolio of corporate banking clients who need financial products and services to meet their financial needs. Develops and maintains important revenue-generating client relationships through new business development, relationship and portfolio management. Assesses the risks and impact from both the client's and bank's perspective, identifies opportunities to cross-sell related banking products and services and leads the development of an overall client relationship strategy. Depending on market needs, will provide guidance to and oversight of other Bankers on his or her Team.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    Meets and exceeds individual and team sales goals while effectively managing the team functions and adhering to corporate, legal, and regulatory policies, guidelines, and requirements regarding compliance.
  • Achieves and exceeds set production goals and qualitative performance benchmarks.
  • Directs and manages the sales and service of financial services within the individual's assigned book of business in accordance with loan quality guidelines, approval standards and production goals.
  • Requires significant marketing presentation, sales and relationship building skills. Expands existing client relationships and actively seeks new clients via targeted prospecting.
  • Ensures that the team provides integrated delivery of financial services including customized lending and traditional banking services to core commercial clients of the bank (greater than $10 million in annual sales and in excess of $1 million in financing needs).
  • Responsible for meeting the broad needs of assigned clients through the coordination of Corporate Relationship Managers, Product Specialists and Corporate Risk Officers. Partners with these specialists to meet the full range of client needs and ensures optimal response and service levels between departments.
  • Responsible for the development of the annual business plan in implementing the business plan across the Team in terms of profitability and credit quality.
  • Depending on market needs may be responsible for the reporting requirements of the Team's Corporate Bankers to senior management in connection with new business development and credit quality.
  • Carries a book of business that includes key relationships.
  • Must be able to analyze financial conditions and industry trends.
  • If loan is an acceptable risk for the bank, negotiates the terms of the loan with the client based on the risk of the loan, current conditions in the financial markets, overall profitability of the loan and the current internal goals of the bank.
  • Review all loan requests, coordinates and actively participates in the underwriting process, ensuring adherence to the bank's credit policies and criteria. Obtains all necessary approvals on new credit requests and modifications. Depending on market needs, will provide guidance to the teams of Corporate Bankers in their portfolio management, prospecting and new business development activities.
  • Maintains portfolio quality, monitors past due loans, minimizes the risk of loan losses and keeps exceptions to a minimum. Ensures full compliance with loan terms. Promptly alerts management of any problems in the portfolio. Submits timely and accurate reports as required. Depending on market needs, will provide similar guidance and oversight of other Bankers on his or her Team.
  • Ensures that all loans are closed according to proper procedures and according to the specific conditions of the CAR working with the appropriate staff and the closing attorney.
  • Represents the bank in the community (boards, associations, social functions, etc.) in a manner that expands friendship significant relationships with business and civic organizations.
  • In the event of a new credit, loan renewal or annual servicing, the Relationship Manager is responsible for the timely collection and analysis of the required updated financial information pertaining to the Borrower or Guarantor. Based on the financials, client interactions and other information, the Relationship Managers are required to determine the financial soundness of the business, based on cash flows and other information and to decide whether the Bank should pursue or continue to support that credit as applicable. Further, the Relationship Manager is responsible for communicating all the pertinent information to the Risk partners who are responsible for making the final decision on the credit.
  • It is responsibility of the Relationship Manager in their dealings with the client to identify and communicate to Risk partners/underwriters/portfolio managers any observed shortcomings in the financials, decreases in company revenue, ownership changes, negative trends, or other pertinent business information that the Bank will then use proactively in managing and accessing the overall credit risk.
  • The Relationship Manager, in certain loan types such as Asset Based Lines requiring monitoring, are responsible for collecting and reviewing the field exam and borrowing base certificates to view quality of receivables, identify any negative trends, and in the case of the field exams, identify any red flags or concerns from the examiner and Communicate with the Risk Managers accordingly.


Qualifications

  • More than 10 years of banking experience in the Central Florida Market area in a commercial lending capacity. Required
  • Has formal credit training by national or large regional bank.
  • Solid leadership skills that encourage personal growth, team work and customer service.
  • Positive, goal oriented, poised, tactful, independent, self-starter, detail oriented and has common sense.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong marketing and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of accounting and finance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive goals and objectives.


Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. Required
