Summary of Role:

Assist in all functions of the finance department while performing analytical review of financial data for forecasting and financial reporting used for financial and operational decision making by the Board of Directors, ALCO Committee, CEO and CFO/COO. Qualified candidate needs to be comfortable with juggling multiple priorities and able to take initiative under circumstances of ambiguity.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Able to understand the balance sheet and income statement of the institution from a funds flow point. Ability to spot trends and ascertain legitimacy of account activity.

  • Develops an understanding of relationships and interdependencies between the balance sheet and income statement. Further develops the ability to review and ascertain departmental forecast data validity.

  • Becomes proficient utilizing the Finance Departments internal analytical systems.

  • Takes ownership of the monthly analytical review model, understanding formulas and performance ratios.

  • Update ALM and Oracle PBCS (Hyperion) systems with monthly interface and data load file.

  • Prepare data, performs monthly analysis, and makes recommendations on the development of specific operating expense and non-interest income forecasted accounts for review by the CFO/COO, Senior Vice President of Finance, and other senior leadership.

  • Answer monthly questions in regard to specific assigned operating expense and non-interest income accounts on a monthly basis.

  • Answer monthly questions in regard to interest income and expense variances.

  • Analyze specific operating expense and non-interest income accounts for annual budget process.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of products at Broadview in relationship to their financial impact.

  • Prepare, analyze, and report on the quarterly product profitability model.

  • Prepare, review, and analyze peer data for business planning and other assignments as required.

  • Maintain peer software with updates.

  • Train other staff as assigned.

  • Assist with regulatory reporting and audit preparation.

  • Gather, prepare, and analyze any operating expense and non-interest income forecasted data for delivery to the ALM during what-if analysis.

  • Prepare and forecast reporting from Oracle PBCS (Hyperion) for delivery across the organization.

  • Develop and prepare semi-annual graphical review for presentation to the ALCO committee.

  • Review monthly financial statements and ALCO report, ALCO presentation, and prep MD&A.

  • Complete special financial analysis for review and delivery to management and executive management as necessary.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the ALM system for coverage in the absence of other staff members

  • Maintain departmental procedures.

  • Prepare base level information for ALM consultants.

  • Prepare written documents on financial what-ifs and for MD&A as required.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field.

  • A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience and/or a combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of two (2) years in a financial institution, working with financial statements.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and create financial documents, such as financial statements, pro forma reports, ratio reports and other related financial documents is required.

  • Microsoft office systems knowledge required.

Starting Compensation: $55,154-$67,564 annually, plus a competitive benefits package.
