How You Will Contribute

  • Serve as the primary technical contact, delivering on-site and remote support for Ciena products.
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues and recommend innovative network solutions.
  • Develop and review customer-facing documentation, including Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), and conduct network audits and health checks.
  • Collaborate with development, service, and sales teams to resolve incidents and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Perform occasional travel to customer sites based on requirements, ensuring exceptional service delivery.

The Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of technical support experience, preferably with a telecom equipment vendor.
  • Expertise in DWDM, ROADM, OTN, Broadband, Photonics, and switching/transport technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Ciena platforms (6500, RLS, Waveserver) and network management tools (Navigator or MCP).
  • Strong knowledge of amplifiers, CDC configurations, and associated modules.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex fiber optic systems and understanding data communications protocols.
  • Experience with Python scripting or similar tools for automation and workflow enhancements.

Nice to Haves

  • Exceptional documentation skills for producing RCAs, MOPs, and health checks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and resolve critical network issues effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making in complex situations.
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and shifting customer needs.

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $79,300 - $126,700.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
