Title: Environmental Lead
Location: St. Gabriel, LA

Salary: $116,000-$150,000
Schedule: 9/80 or 5-8s
Relocation Available

Focus: The Environmental Lead is responsible for implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the environmental management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and add value to meet site objectives and maintain the license to operate.

Environmental Lead Position Responsibilities:

  • Implement and continuously improve environmental management systems (work processes, standards, and procedures).
  • Understand and own all environmental calculations related to permits, emissions, and releases. The position will have support from engineers and consultants, but the applicant must understand current environmental emissions calculations practices and requirements to be able to work with these teams.
  • Manage air, water, and waste regulatory and permit activities and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering and Maintenance on projects, day to day operations, and associated compliance activities.
  • Coordinate, implement and optimize EH&S programs across the site and in conjunction with Division or Corporate programs and initiatives.
Environmental Lead Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree*; Engineering or Science discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in an environmental role required; air regulatory experience preferred.
  • Prior chemical or petrochemical industry experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing.
  • Must be available for on-call coverage as necessary to support the plant. (e.g. rotating on-call support with other EHS staff, fielding emergency employee calls and going onsite for support in emergency instances)
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).

*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
