Job Description
Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Oklahoma City, OK Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm This position will service as the Lab Supervisor for INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center Essential Functions of Employment with DLO: Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis The lab supervisor has the responsibility for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all technical and/or operational activities and staff members on all shifts. Responsible for performing duties to operate the lab with the highest quality, safety,integrity, and in an efficient, economical, and businesslike manner are of utmost importance.Plans, assigns, and directs work in the laboratory as well as mentors and supports employees in their responsibilities in quality control, testing, and ensuring they receive training in supervisory skill development. Oversees the assignment and submission of proficiency testing as well as administer and signs off on competency assessments in a timely manner.Ensures quality control and compliance procedures are followed and all documents reviewed as appropriate. Reviews test performance, drives process and project management, and prepares and submits required reports to meet established deadlines.Must demonstrate interpersonal skills to gain cooperation with other departments and foster continuous improvements. Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, including weekends, and holidays. Demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to address client concerns and employees in a professional manner. Makes independent decisions and handle multiple priorities. Able to organize and lead projects both within the work group and with cross-functional groups.Coordinates and monitors theEHS programs and ensuresEHS regulatory standards and safety procedures are followed. Creates a supportive and inclusive environment for employees to share ideas and provide feedback. Must be able to work closely with the Laboratory Manager and DLO QA to ensure teamwork between shifts and compliance with QA program. Able to meet physician's needs by problem solving and resolution of their concerns. Attend all appropriate meetings as needed by the hospital including, but not limited to, Integris daily huddle, TJC inspection teams, Patient Care, and Med Quality as required by the hospital. Responsibilities: BS degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science to meet CLIA standards for a laboratory supervisor. Applicant must demonstrate a broad knowledge of the technical aspects of the tests performed in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Serology, and Blood Banking.Applicant should demonstrate a willingness to stay abreast of the latest innovations in test methodologies. Qualifications: Minimum - 5 years in a clinical laboratory; 2 years supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
