The Director - Sales role will support the overall Commercial team for Regal Rexnord's Automation Solutions business unit. The role will lead the overall Commercial strategy development and execution focused on process improvement, capability development, and strategic initiatives. This role will also collaborate with the Product Management team developing and executing strategic and tactical plans related to supporting existing business and penetrating new markets/applications with our Automation Solutions products, equipment, and aftermarket services. This position has 8 to 10 direct reports and a total team of 17-20. This role will report to the General Manager of the Business Unit.

Major Responsibilities:

The Director - Sales will support the sales organization in achieving its goals by providing expertise, guidance, and support in areas such as process optimization, commercial coverage, sales and market insights, training and development, and analytics

  • Stays current with industry trends and best practices in sales to continually improve the sales organization's performance and go-to-market (GTM) strategy.
  • Implements GTM strategies that ensure sales funnel shape, size and product mix objectives are achieved; including development of new prospects and increasing share of wallet.
  • Monitors sales funnel KPI's and engages to support sales team on customer opportunities through various stages of prospecting and opportunity development using customer call reports and other key performance indicators (KPIs) of commercial performance.
  • Implements robust account planning processes and ensures sustainability of both Key Account and single sales objective opportunities.
  • Provides proactive surveillance of the business performance by analyzing commercial KPI's and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
  • Directs, coordinates, supports the implementation of large scale regional or global commercial initiatives
  • Ensures high standards of sales organization execution and operational excellence, through continuous. monitoring of sales productivity, effectiveness and quality, on the ground direct coaching of sales associates.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to manage and support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes. Accountable for the demand forecasting process that deliver the inputs to the Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning process.
  • Coordinates with leadership to identify, prioritize, and develop opportunities to continuously improve sales organization effectiveness, through training, tools, processes and procedures
  • Drives adoption of sales processes, tools and metrics (globally), building consensus and support for change as necessary.
  • Collaborates with leadership to define sales capability needs and gaps
  • Serves as the escalation point for sales associates and internal customer issues
  • Perform annual review of account segmentation and account assignments. Deploy sales resources to effectively meet / exceed annual team and individual quota targets
  • Reviews plans for strategic accounts
  • Leads customer related trainings and plant visits
  • Trade Organization participation and leadership

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • BS Industrial Technologies/Mech. Eng./Industrial Distribution or related field preferred
  • Experience in lead generation, funnel management, and account planning processes required.
  • 10+ years of experience in the capital equipment and/or system sales required; experience in conveying/material handling industry is preferred.
  • 5+ years sales management experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; utilization of Salesforce.com or similar software for CRM preferred.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 50%

Salary Range: $170K-$200K
