| What to Expect This position is supporting Tesla's engineering fleet vehicle's maintenance and repairs. The primary objective of this role is to maintain and assure safe and reliable performance of engineering fleet vehicles. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in automotive maintenance and repair. What You'll Do
 
  Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform hands-on repairs on engineering test vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related systemsConduct retrofits, component replacements, and system upgrades at test sites across the U.S.Collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify root causes of issues and implement effective repair solutionsDocument all maintenance, repair activities, and parts usage in internal systems (JIRA) with thorough detail and accuracyManage inventory of required tools, parts, and consumables to ensure timely completion of repairsProvide clear, professional written and verbal updates on vehicle condition, repair status, and test readiness to stakeholdersMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to Tesla's quality and safety standardsWhat You'll Bring
 
   
    3+ years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Service Technician, Engineering Technician, or similar role in vehicle repair and diagnosticsStrong technical knowledge of automotive systems (powertrain, suspension, brakes, HVAC, electrical, and software diagnostics)Proven ability to troubleshoot complex vehicle issues and perform high-quality repairs independentlyAutomotive certifications (ASE or manufacturer-specific) and/or technical degree preferredAbility to work autonomously while prioritizing multiple repairs and tasks under tight deadlinesSkilled in electrical/software troubleshooting, including use of diagnostic equipment and repair toolsStrong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in both repair work and documentationExcellent communication skills to collaborate with remote engineering teams and provide clear updatesProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, or weekends as required to support testing schedules.Candidates must have the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 10%) Compensation and Benefits
