We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead field operations at Shaw AFB, South Carolina. The Superintendent will oversee all day-to-day site activities, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong field leadership, a proactive problem-solver mindset, and the ability to coordinate subcontractors and crews to deliver excellence on a federal project.

Location: Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Serve as the on-site leader, supervising all field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.



  • Oversee day-to-day construction operations, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and NAVFAC standards.



  • Enforce strict compliance with safety programs, including OSHA and EM 385-1-1 requirements.



  • Coordinate project schedules, subcontractor sequencing, and site logistics to achieve milestones.



  • Conduct daily inspections for safety, quality, and progress; resolve issues before they impact the project.



  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and as-builts.



  • Collaborate with Project Managers, QCM, SSHO, and government representatives to ensure smooth execution.



  • Lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings, reinforcing a culture of accountability and teamwork.



  • Mentor field staff and contribute to the long-term growth of the CONS GC East Coast team.




QUALIFICATIONS:




  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's in Construction Management or related field preferred.



  • 5+ years of experience supervising federal or military construction projects.



  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and best practices.



  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and field crews on complex projects.



  • OSHA 30-hour certification required; EM 385-1-1 training strongly preferred.



  • Valid driver's license and ability to work on a secure military installation.



  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
