Daikin Applied is now hiring for an Engineering New Technology Intern in Plymouth, MN!

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our dynamic Engineering New Technology team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the field of engineering within a leading organization. Location: Plymouth, MN in office 5 days per week

Timeline: This Internship opportunity is for May-August 2026

Essential Responsibilities:



  • You will own your own project(s) with support from the NTI Engineering team
  • Day-to-day work will include:

    • Contribute to technical project plans for new or upgrades to existing test equipment
    • Contribute to New technology project(s) with research, calculations and Analysis
    • Develop prototypes and conduct design of experiments and Analyze data
    • Troubleshoot testing, Critical thinking, and designing solutions to key knowledge gaps in project(s)
    • Develop HVAC and technical expertise
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineers, test technicians and Manufacturing experts to accomplish project(s)




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Sophomore or Junior currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Formal coursework in the areas of measurement systems, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, and/or strength of materials
  • Experience with testing expertise, and simulation tool expertise (MATLAB, Python, Dymola, EES, etc)
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, preferred 3.5 or better
  • Reside within a 300-mile radius of our Plymouth, MN office


The typical hourly pay rate for this position is $24/hr - $29/hr. This represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
