Charter's State Government Affairs team is tasked with achieving the company's franchising, legislative and regulatory goals on a state and local level. They are seeking a bright, determined, and committed Government Affairs Specialist to join the team to assist in driving Government Affairs priorities. Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Schedule, arrange travel, and manage expense reports for SVP and other executives; assist SVP with monthly team messages Manage PAC contribution SharePoint site; generate contribution monthly report Set up vendors, manage payments, and update organizational charts and Outlook distribution lists Manage national third-party calls, maintain calendar, and distribute call notes; attend region calls and compile notes Assist in event organization, including logistics, budgeting, vendor coordination, and guest management Analyze, monitor, and track BEAD activity, political contributions, franchise renewals, 626 letters, and PEG requests; prepare monthly reports Conduct audits with Franchising Team, focusing on franchise renewals, fee audits, 626 windows, and PEG requests Research Data Management input related to franchise renewals, 626 windows, and community unit ID cleanup Support Senior Director in filing lobbying reports and assist with franchise activities, including renewals, check requests, and state filings Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Effective verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated knowledge of the political process and campaign finance laws Effective organizational capabilities and experience managing financial accounts Effective work ethic with desire to complement a fun and dynamic team atmosphere Ability to think critically, demonstrate good judgement, is detail oriented, and has innovative problem-solving skills Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while effectively meeting deadlines Skilled in SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Notes, PowerPoint, Excel, Word Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record within the Company required standards and auto insurance Required Education Bachelor's degree in business, political science or related field or equivalent experience Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years Political/government experience- 2-3 years Experience with Sharepoint Preferred Qualifications Corporate PAC experience a plus Working Conditions Office environment Travel as required Exposure to moderate noise levels SPECTRUM CONNECTS YOU TO MORE Dynamic Growth: The growth of our industry and evolving technology powers our employees' careers as they move up or around the company Supportive Teams: Be part of a strong community that gives you opportunities to network and grow, and wants to see you succeed Learning Culture: With a dedicated focus on training and development, employees can have confidence that day one is truly just the beginning of a dynamic career Total Rewards: See all the ways we invest in you-at work and in life Apply now, connect a friend to this opportunity or sign up for job alerts! A qualified applicant's criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances. The base pay for this position generally is between $60,480.00 and $96,720.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
