OPERATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: ETCH TO SHIP

DEPARTMENT: FINISHING

PAY LEVEL:

JOB FUNCTION:

To provide systematic etching to cast parts.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to etch to ship/ Green Sort all product
  • Responsible for transacting product in and out of Etch hold as directed by Quality and Engineering
  • Box all product for dock
  • Ability to identify/ communicate issues to Management, Quality and Engineering
  • Ensure all product on daily dock plan gets transacted prior to end of shift each day
  • Read and apply the Quality Engineering Specification (QES) to the visual inspection of a casting, using a scan pattern for the inspection

  • Ability to understand "Toy Soldier" inspection to help identify any variation in groups of parts per the QES
  • Indications are evaluated and a decision is made to accept or reject the casting based on the acceptance of the QES
  • Operate air powered tool to rework castings
  • Grit blast parts in an enclosed grit blast cabinet, as necessary.
  • Lifting of individual/ tray of parts (up to 25 pounds) is required.

EDUCATION:

High school education.

EXPERIENCE:

Three months OJT training.

INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:

Moderate initiative and ingenuity. Driven individual who helps identify and remedy issues as they arise.

EFFORT:

Normal effort required. Lift/move 5-25 pounds, 2 or more times per hour.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for self. Make sure parts meet quality standards. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.

Good working conditions, dusty, noisy.
