GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The position is responsible for preparing and installing electrical wiring of signal and power circuits for shelters to achieve quality and integrity of products at the lowest possible cost. The E-FSR will also examine defective or problematic units shipped to customers to carry out specific repairs.i ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Uses written instructions, prints, and schematics as well as verbal instructions to prepare, locate and install wiring circuits, harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical sub-assemblies, and accessories in shelter systems. This includes both benchwork and shelter installations.
- Must be able to install large wire connectors, different-sized multi-pin connectors, cable assemblies, ESD knowledge, handling, and installation of fiber optic cables.
- Performs wire cutting, labeling, stripping, and crimping all sizes of wires using the associated tools and equipment.
- When certified, performs soldering operations that include all wire sizes (large to small) using soldering stations, soldering pots, resistance, and induction soldering equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and adjusting tools and equipment for electrical operations.
- Uses test equipment (i.e., fixed gages, power supplies, multi-meters) to perform continuity and troubleshoot problems on electrical sub-assemblies, bench, and shelter wiring installations. This may include live circuits.
- Use various tools, including, but not limited to, electric/ pneumatic drills, rivet poppers, hand/ pneumatic wire terminal crimpers, and Artos and Komax wire cutting and stripping machines.
- Examines units to determine specific problems or defects.
- Investigates related corrective action requests (CARs) to ensure future prevention. May also initiate CARs as needed.
- May direct the work of one or two technicians as assigned.
- Will be assigned to repair units outside of the plant and at customer locations
- The individual must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally regularly and on short notice as required.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Required Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

- Ability to read complicated blueprints.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- 3+ years of on-the-job experience in electrical assembly.
- The individual must obtain IPC J-STD, IPC-610, and IPC/WHMA-620 certifications.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics; commercial/industrial wiring experience.
- Knowledge of 120/220 single-phase wiring, all applications of different voltages of three-phase wiring.
- Knowledge of Control Circuit Wiring.
- Must supply basic hand tools.
- A vocational degree in electronics is a preferred.
- Technical training is a preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shop Floor environment / shared workbench or workstation.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e., machine motors).
- Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
- Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
