DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Semi Skilled Laborer, you will be responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds at the Southwestern Veterans' Center. You will care for buildings and surrounding grounds by performing minor masonry and patching, preventative equipment maintenance, landscaping and mulching, and snow removal. You will also assist with carpentry and plumbing functions. This role requires the ability to determine proper work methods and procedures to complete assignments efficiently. In addition, you will paint interior and exterior areas, operate mechanized and motorized equipment, and assist other trades employees as necessary. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience in trades such as masonry, carpentry, or plumbing
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
