Endpoint Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Endpoint Systems Engineer with deep experience in Windows OS deployment, image creation, PowerShell scripting, and enterprise-level systems management using Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM). The ideal candidate will be an analytical problem solver who is comfortable with complex technical challenges in both workstation and server environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced enterprise IT environment and is looked to as a "go-to" resource for troubleshooting and optimization.

What You'll Work On:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Operating System Deployment (OSD) Task Sequences using MECM, including SCCM or ConfigMgr CB, and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in existing task sequences and implement enhancements through scripting and configuration changes.

  • Apply advanced customizations to OSD processes via PowerShell and other automation techniques.

  • Analyze and resolve deployment failures by examining log files such as SMSTS.log, identifying root causes, and implementing fixes.

  • Create and maintain Windows OS images for workstation and server, including patch slipstreaming, application integration, and OS customizations.

  • Use tools like DISM, PowerShell, and third-party utilities to manage and service images.

  • Set up and manage virtual machines using VMware or Hyper-V for testing configurations and image validation.

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and support deployment and configuration processes.

  • Import, manage, and create reusable PowerShell modules or tools for internal team use.

  • Replace legacy batch or VBScript-based solutions with PowerShell equivalents where applicable.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with MECM in a medium-to-large enterprise, including SCCM or ConfigMgr

  • 3+ years of experience with OSD Task Sequences, including MECM or MDT, and deployment troubleshooting

  • 3+ years of experience creating and managing Windows OS images, including workstation and server

  • 3+ years of experience with advanced Windows troubleshooting, including AD, GPO, networking, logs, or firewall

  • 2+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and tool development

  • Experience working in cross-functional and matrixed teams

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNASecurity, GSEC, or SSCP Certification within 30 days of hire date

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience packaging and deploying applications using MECM in large enterprise environments

  • Experience creating and managing deployments, debugging client policies, managing collections, and performing client remediation

  • Experience with WireShark, ProcMon, or Process Explorer

  • Experience building systems using VMware or Hyper-V

  • Possession of excellent collaboration and communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
