The College of Business (
COB) has been
AACSB accredited for over 40 years. We offer
BSBA,
MBA, and
MSA degrees and our School of Hospitality Management offers both a BS in Hospitality Management and an MS in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality. Additionally, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship offers a BS in Entrepreneurship. We are one of the largest Colleges of Business in the state with approximately 4,200 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. To date, the
COB has approximately 150 faculty members of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, and application of knowledge. A strategic goal of the college is to create an environment where the faculty, staff, and students can thrive and be personally and professionally respected. |
Job Duties |
INTERNAL
POSTING: Open only to applicants currently employed by East Carolina University.
Faculty and Staff Awards Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight of faculty recognition
- Oversight of Pirate and Crystal Duck awards
- Inform College of internal and external opportunities for faculty recognition
- Oversight and implementation of Stafford Teaching, Stansell Research, Stallings Service, and Deonanan New Faculty Awards, Haytko Fellowship, and Staff Award for Excellence
- In conjunction with ADAQ, provide feedback to FAC on university teaching awards
Faculty Development and Mentorship:
Planning and logistics of faculty development opportunities
- Coordinate with the Associate Deans to plan and provide lunch & learns and brown bag series related to HR, Research, and Teaching
- Develop and initiate programs to mentor faculty at all ranks
- Create and implement succession planning programs and job shadowing
- Liaison between Workforce Success Council Faculty Development subcommittee and ADs
Other Responsibilities:
- Attend Chairs and Directors Meetings
- Assist with AOL retreat

Minimum Education/Experience |
Terminal degree (PhD,
DBA, or EdD); possess the credentials, experience, and documented achievements appropriate for appointment as a tenured Associate Professor or Professor.
Only current full-time members who are tenured and hold the rank of Professor or Associate Professor (excluding those whose primary responsibilities are in administration) in the College of Business are eligible for this position. |
