Position Overview

JLL Project and Development Services is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex healthcare construction and renovation projects. This role requires a dedicated professional with deep expertise in healthcare facility development, regulatory compliance, and project delivery in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities Project Leadership
  • Manage multiple healthcare projects simultaneously from pre-construction through occupancy, including hospitals, medical office buildings, ambulatory surgery centers, and specialty clinics
  • Serve as primary client liaison, maintaining strong relationships with healthcare administrators, medical staff, and facility management teams
  • Lead cross-functional project teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans
Healthcare Expertise
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulations including Joint Commission standards, CMS requirements, and infection control protocols
  • Coordinate with medical equipment planners and clinical staff to integrate complex medical technology and infrastructure
  • Manage projects requiring specialized systems (medical gas, surgical suites, imaging centers, laboratories)
  • Navigate unique healthcare challenges including phased construction, operational continuity, and patient safety requirements
Project Delivery
  • Oversee project budgets ranging from $5M to $50M+, ensuring delivery within approved parameters
  • Implement JLL's project management methodologies and quality assurance processes
  • Manage change orders, cost controls, and financial reporting
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and ensure timely permit acquisition
Stakeholder Management
  • Facilitate design charrettes and stakeholder meetings with clinical teams
  • Present project updates to executive leadership and board members
  • Manage vendor relationships and subcontractor performance
  • Ensure effective communication across all project phases
Required Qualifications Experience
  • 7+ years of project management experience in healthcare construction
  • Proven track record managing complex healthcare projects including hospitals, surgery centers, or medical facilities
  • Experience with both new construction and renovation projects in occupied healthcare environments
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • PMP certification preferred
  • LEED AP credential preferred
  • Healthcare Construction Certification (HCC) a plus
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare building codes, infection control requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Knowledge of medical equipment planning and infrastructure requirements
  • Experience with integrated project delivery methods
Core Competencies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Leadership experience with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Construction Management or MBA
  • Experience with JLL systems and processes
  • Previous experience with academic medical centers or health systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology trends and facility planning
