JOB STATUS: Full-time

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Dimensional Calibration/Repair Technician located at the NSWC Corona in Corona, CA. Qualified candidates must have a well-rounded skill set in the following measurement areas, including Dimensional, Optical, Chemical/Bio and Force. Any combination of these skills would be considered. Our combined contractor team provides the necessary services in the inspection, certification and calibration of Navy METCAL Programs, Navy Special Interface Gages, Marine Corps Infantry Weapons Gage Certification Program, U.S. Army Gage Program, U.S. Navy and Coast Guard Small Arms Program and NAVAIR Gun Gage Program. Our tasking also consists of quality assessment support, technical writing, and technical assistance with engineering projects and programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • MUST be a U.S. Citizen, able to acquire and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in Test, Maintenance, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration and repair, preferably in a military calibration lab. Experience includes inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE.
  • Must have completed a DoD U.S. Metrology training (Navy or Marine Corps preferred) or industry equivalent. (Completion of a DOD-accredited Precision Measurement Equipment Lab (PMEL) School is preferred.)
  • Must have the ability to read and analyze block, schematic, wiring, and logic diagrams-ability to troubleshoot and repair non-functioning TMDE.
  • Demonstrate the ability to generate correct and complete administrative, metrological paperwork following established procedures using the proper tools provided.
  • Demonstrate understanding and perform inspection, calibration, or certification techniques needed to calibrate standards, gages, fixtures, test, measurement & diagnostic equipment.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to follow all procedures and administrative directions in all daily duties.
  • Ability to make judgments and decisions within the framework of oral and written instructions.
  • Possess a solid knowledge of computers, Microsoft office products; with the ability to input data and generate administrative paperwork correctly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Machining and machine shop experience or background is a plus.
  • Completion of a DOD-accredited PMEL School certificate is preferred.
  • Having a good understanding of Navy Metrology and Calibration Program requirements is desired.
  • Manufacturing, Production, and/or Manufacturing Engineering background.
  • Experience with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning Program (NAVY ERP).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate correct and complete administrative, metrological paperwork following established procedures using the proper tools provided.
  • Performs inspections, calibrations or certification techniques needed for the calibration of standards, gages, fixtures, and test, measurement & diagnostic equipment.
  • All actions are subject to regular reviews/audits by Quality Assurance personnel to ensure strict adherence to established procedures and/or processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Follow strict Hazmat and Safety policy guidance and adherence to established procedures and/or processes

*Starting salary: $28/h + depending on experience
